Kornmarkt Arkaden Frankfurt – Luftbild

Sustainably planned and constructed, and with a design that draws on the very best that architecture has to offer, the Kornmarkt Kontore has integrated the former Federal Audit Office to create a striking new presence between Bethmannstraße and Berliner Straße. Comprising offices, a hotel, retail space and apartments, the Kornmarkt Arkaden skilfully combine modern architecture and technology with history. As a mark of respect for the significance of the former Federal Audit Office, a great deal of care and architectural skill have been used to ensure that the Kornmarkt Arkaden office buildings retain and showcase characteristic elements from the early days of the Federal Republic of Germany. With new routes between the buildings based on historic plans, the infrastructure of the city centre and access from there to the Main River have been markedly improved.iver.

The market is at your doorstep

Fertile soil for shops and restaurants

The balanced usage of the Kornmarkt Arkaden comprising retail, residential, hotel and office space creates a vibrant area in the heart of Frankfurt with long-term viability that tremendously enhances the city centre both economically and architecturally. Companies that act quickly to take advantage of this new opportunity will enjoy the very best conditions for a successful future. Thanks to the inclusion of arcades and impressive street frontage, the retail and restaurant trades will benefit greatly from this attractive location. In addition to hotel guests, office workers and a large number of visitors from Frankfurt itself, this newly created public space will also be a particular attraction for residents in the vicinity thanks to its urban flair.

The right place at the right time

Optimally situated and with excellent transportation links, the Kornmarkt Arkaden have everything one could wish for. With the Willy-Brandt-Platz, Dom / Römer and Hauptwache U-Bahn underground tram stations and Hauptwache S-Bahn subway station all located in the direct vicinity, the Kornmarkt Arkaden are also optimally connected to destinations outside the city limits. Frankfurt Main Train Station is just a ten-minute walk or short tram ride away, while Frankfurt Airport can be reached in less than 15 minutes.

People who spend a great deal of time in the office will be particularly pleased by the wealth of leisure activities available near the Kornmarkt Kontore: Cultural interludes in the Goethe House, shopping in the Zeil pedestrian zone, enjoying a good laugh at the cabaret theatre Die Schmiere, chatting in a café or simply seeing and being seen in nearby bars. There are also lots of restaurants and cafés in the neighbourhood – for that welcome feeling of being at the heart of city life.

Success requires roots and vision

With the construction of the Kornmarkt Arkaden, this central location is regaining the key role it enjoyed thanks to generations as a place of exchange. The Kornmarkt and the connecting street Buchgasse were once among the most important streets in Frankfurt. It was here that the first Frankfurt Book Fair took place in 1480, and the trade in fruits and grains here flourished into the 18th century. In the adjacent St. Paul’s Church, Germany’s first freely elected parliament met from May 1848 to June 1849. Following its reconstruction during the boom years of the economic miracle, the Federal Audit Office was the site’s defining structure for many years.
